In mid-March, a video invitation was sent from Change The World Club to five special Starfish girls in Gambia announcing the intention to bring them to the June 10th benefit concert being hosted on their behalf. Emotions were at a joyful high. Now, just a few days from the concert, a setback has casted disappointment on the international partners; all five Starfish girls have been denied their visas by the U.S. Embassy. Change The World Club is boldly moving forward with the concert, though. While the barriers to education, empowerment, and connection may be taking on new forms, the students' resolve to make a difference is as great as ever.
